Rain Barrel Water Diverter "Galvanised"

With this galvanised rain barrel water diverter, the rain barrel is quickly filled with free rainwater. The rain barrel will no longer overflow when it is full. Once the maximum water level is reached, the excess rainwater is neatly drained away through the downpipe. Suitable for round downpipes with a diameter of Ø 70 and 80 mm, and compatible with any rain barrel that has a pre-drilled hole at the rear or a rain barrel with a removable lid.

Installation instructions:

1. Determine the desired height of the rain barrel diverter. First place the rain barrel at the correct height.
2. Cut the downpipe in half at this height.
3. Place the rain barrel diverter between the two sections of the downpipe.
4. The top of the rain barrel diverter is flared: the upper pipe fits into this section.
5. The bottom section is narrower (approx. 76 or 96 mm) and fits into the lower part of the downpipe.
6. Drill or cut a hole in the rain barrel to connect the hose or connection from the rain barrel diverter.
7. Once the barrel is full, the excess water automatically flows back into the downpipe.

Important: place the rain barrel on a solid surface

For optimal performance and a long lifespan of your rain barrel, it is important that it is always placed firmly and stably. We recommend placing the rain barrel on a suitable stand and positioning it on a hard, level surface, such as paving tiles or a solid foundation.

If the surface is soft, uneven or insufficiently stable, the rain barrel may sink over time due to the weight of the water. This can create additional pressure on the connection of the water diverter and overflow system. In some cases, this may cause the overflow connection to become damaged or even break.

By ensuring a stable installation, you prevent problems and ensure that your rain barrel and water diverter continue to function optimally for many years.
